Jessica is interested in the particular ways in which police violence manifests and works in concert with other forms of structural racism to deteriorate the physical and mental health of Black people and other people of color in the U.S.

She is examining the impact of county-level correlates of structural racism on the racial disparity in police violence victimization across the U.S. Also doing in-depth interviews with New Orleans residents and officers to explore their understanding of and experiences with police use of force.
