Do you want to make a real difference in your community? Do you have ideas about how to reduce violence in New Orleans? Join the Junior Civic Safety Council (JCSC), a youth-led group working to create safer, stronger neighborhoods.
We believe young people know their communities best — what’s happening, what’s missing, and what needs to change. By working with the Center for Youth Equity (CYE) and the Violence Prevention Institute (VPI), JCSC members bring fresh ideas, create meaningful change, and help shape programs and policies that reflect the needs of our city.
What You’ll Do as a JCSC Member
- Advise: Share your thoughts and ideas to make sure our projects truly reflect what young people in New Orleans need.
- Create: Work on your own projects and help organize events.
- Grow: Build leadership skills that will help you make a bigger impact in your community and beyond.
