Interdisciplinary Approach to Violence Prevention

While housed in the The Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, the Violence Prevention Institute is an interdisciplinary endeavor bringing together other social scientists, physicians, nurses, health care workers, mental health professionals, educators, and any community member interested in violence prevention.

Our Mission & Vision

The Violence Prevention Institute seeks to understand and address the root causes and consequences of violence through community-centered research and collaboration to improve the health, well-being, and safety for everyone.

We hope to foster an equitable world where everyone has what they need to thrive.
