Focus Area

Queer and Trans Violence

LGBTQ+ communities face disproportionate risks of harassment, discrimination, and violence, which contribute to health inequities and social marginalization. Research in this area focuses on understanding the experiences, needs, and resilience of queer and trans individuals, while identifying strategies to prevent violence and promote inclusion. Faculty and projects work to develop culturally responsive interventions, inform policy, and advocate for safer spaces, aiming to reduce disparities and empower these communities.
