Focus Area
HIV and Violence
Violence and HIV are often interrelated, with exposure to violence increasing vulnerability to infection and exacerbating health disparities. Research at the intersection of HIV and violence examines how trauma, stigma, and inequity impact prevention, treatment, and care outcomes. Faculty and projects in this area focus on integrating violence prevention into HIV-related programs, supporting affected populations, and creating holistic interventions that address both health and social determinants of risk.
