Approaches
Trauma-Centered
Exposure to violence often results in physical, psychological, and social trauma that can persist across the lifespan. A trauma-centered approach prioritizes understanding, acknowledging, and responding to these experiences in research, programming, and practice. Faculty and projects integrate trauma-informed principles to create safe, supportive environments, reduce re-traumatization, and promote resilience among individuals and communities affected by violence.
