Extreme heat linked to spike in domestic violence calls in New Orleans, study finds

A JAMA Network Open study by Tulane’s Newcomb Institute found that prolonged extreme heat in New Orleans increases domestic violence 911 calls by 7%, highlighting the need to include violence prevention in heatwave planning.
